Benefits of this evening:
By the end of the evening, you will have an overview for understanding a very powerful model for understanding human behaviour, both yours and that of your clients, and how it is shaped and limited by the world-view we inhabit.
The exercises we do will help you to begin designing new practices to shift and expand your ways of being.
You will also have some understanding of how ontological coaching can really help to shift a client's capacity for taking action.
This very experiential evening workshop will take a look at how our world view is shaped, and how it informs our capacity for action in the world. We will look at how we can shift our own, and our clients' world-view, by working in the domains of language, body and emotions.
What distinguishes Ontological Coaching from other kinds of coaching is that it focuses on altering and expanding the world view of an individual or group so that they can see and take new action aligned with their beliefs and values, and navigate more effectively in a rapidly-changing world.
Ontological Coaching has the capacity to go much further than the "traditional" coaching approach of "tell me what you want and I'll help you get there", which, while helpful in certain situations, is not sufficient to deal with the emerging concerns that we and our clients are facing. We need a way of coaching that gives people more than just "more of the same", so that they can explore and discover new ways to approach life and work.
As Eric Hoffer says: In times of change, those who are prepared to learn will inherit the land, while those who think they already know, will find themselves wonderfully equipped to face a world that no longer exists.
About Aboodi Shabi
Aboodi Shabi is one of the UK's most senior coaches and a pioneer in the European Coaching world. He was the co-founder of UK ICF, and also served on the main ICF Board, in addition to being very involved in the first European coaching conferences. He has worked with hundreds of coaches all over the world, and is a sought-after speaker and workshop-leader.
Aboodi is an ICF PCC, and a Newfield Network Certified Ontological Coach.?
He is currently Manager of European Public Programming for Newfield Network, whose next London Programme, the Newfield Ontological Learning Course, begins in March 2007 -
